after Vomiting , the common Bitters with Arcma - ticks , Afiringents , Steel , or any warm generous dicines , according to the Strength , Age , and Con - ilitution of the Patient , never yet deceived me , though herein iòmetimes I have found ncceflary the Afliftance of a conformable way of Living , as brifk Exercife as much as can be endured without ing , and a Diet that is warm , fpirituous , eafy of Digeltion , and what S ait flor i us calls eaûly perfpira - ble , in which , Fleih is better than Filh ; roaited ter than boil'd ; every thing high feafoned , ing with Salt - , ilrong fiale Beer , old dry Wines in moderate Quantities , are perferable to fmall and new Liquors . Eut all thefe Things are to be naged with Care and particular Dire & ions , and in fuch a Manner as always to fall in with the tions of Cure - , and I cannot but fometimes entertain a Belief , that this Diilcmper , by a Perlon thoroughly apprifed of its Nature and Caufes , might be cured by as different Ways and Means , as any one Diitem - pcr befides , notwithftanding an unaccountable Big - gotry to the Bark has drawn Perfons into the Ufe of that only . But as to Cbalybcated Bitters , efpccially after the Fit is once put by : Thus much I have to fay farther , that by them I have feen Perfons , not only thoroughly recovered from their Agues , butalfo from the Borders of the Jaundice , Dropjies , and other ftubborn and often fatal Diitempers , which their long Continuance are very apt to bring People into . How fuch Means as thefe not only take away an aguilli Difpofition , but reitore allo a Perfon to a found Health , needs no Explanation , to luch who are converfant in thefe Enquiries . 
But before I quite clofe this Efiay , it will be worth the while enquire into the Reafon , why an Increafe of any of the fenfible Evacuations , or Phlebotomy foon after a Cure , is fo apt to return 2 ! the
