Perfuade my felf that there will be but ètr Ak & little need of an Apology for the following ijjll' ratìp Performance , with regard to the Dftgn C . \g£ - l & 7ff of it . The Aphorifms of S a sc tor ius have long been in the heft Efleem ivi : h all good Judges , who have had the Luck to be acquainted with them - , and hereby I have endeavoured only to bring them into a larger Acquaintance , both by rendering them in our own Language , and giving fuch Explanations of fame of the mojl difficult , as may make them eafy and intelligible , a i maß to any Perfori who has given himfelf the Lu fur e to refleft at all , upon the Nature of his Conftitution , and the Changes it is moß apt to undergo by the Influence of external Caufes .
This ColleHion of Aphorisms has not only been a particular Favourite with the Faculty , but alfo has had a great Share in the good Eßeem of all olhex Perfons of Underßanding ; than which there cannot be a more convincing Proof of its IVortb : Truth never fails of Entertainment when it appears in its natural
