{ am a poor fellow, and I live in a very nar- 
cow lane; but I have plenty of light notwith- 
standing; for as I am quite at the top of the 
house. I have a free view over the neighbouring 
roofs. For the first few days after I came to 
live in the town. ii seemed very confined and 
solitary here; instead of the woods and green 
hills. black chimneys now bounded my horizon!
