MCCCXCI — Circa festum assumptionis 
b. virginis Johannes dux de Stargardia et filii sui 
Ulricus et Johannes una cum civibus Rostoccensibus 
et Wismariensibus transfretaverunt iterum cum magno 
numero armatorum in Sweciam. In quo transitu ap 
plicantes insulse Borneholm intraverunt ipsam et de- 
prædati sunt eam. Inde navigantes venerunt Got- 
landiam et similiter illam spoliantes, tandem pervene 
runt in Stokholm civitatem. Contra hanc urbem Dani 
ædificaverant duo castra, quorum unum mox exercitus 
ducis expugnavit et cepit. Sed quia alterum in alti 
montis cacumine fundatum erat, idcirco ipsum tam 
vincere non poterant nec capere. Coram isto ergo 
castro Dani placitare coeperunt cum duce Johanne et 
treugas ab eo optinuerunt ad proximum festum Pen 
tecostes duraturas. Ad has inducias postulandas com 
pulit eos fames et penuria victualium maxima w), et 
si tunc excercitus ducis in castri expugnatione persé 
vérassent, totum illum Danorum exercitum et cor regni 
in arto positum lucratus fuisset et consequenter Alber- 
tum regem, pro quo certabat, liberasset. Sed non 
erant omnes æque fideles domino suo, pro cujus libe 
ratione exierant in proelium, prout sonabat canticum 
super hac expeditione confectum. — — — — — 
1391 y) Rostoccenses et Wismarienses pro 
ereptione sui regis Alberti expeditiori evocari fecerunt 
omnes depraedari volentes tria regna super sorte sua 
propria, quod ad se venirent, quia ad eos securum ha 
bere deberent refugium et in suis urbibus morari, 
exire de eis et redire raptaque in illis tribus regnis 
expendere, libere vendere et in usus suos beneplacitos 
commutare. Qua evocatione facta tot venerunt piratæ 
et raptores, quod quasi totum mare, nedum orientale 
seu Balticum, sed et occiduum pelagus replerent, nul 
lis parcentes navigantibus, sed toti orbi insidiantes. 
Hi praedones maris Yitalianos se appellantes, quæcun- 
que rapiebant, ad dictas duas civitates perducebant,
