PRAEFATIO 
JH-anc dissertationem quum composuerim, qua summos in utroque 
jure honores impetrarem, hac ipsa re jam me purgari credo, ita 
ut, quod huic fini respondet, satis habeam. Neque ea literis aliquid 
prodesse mihi sumo, nisi fortasse hanc laudem mereatur, quod usu 
fontium diligenti clariorem lucem, quam adhuc factum est, in inter 
nam juris patrii historiam effundi posse ostendat. Ad quam opinio 
nem propagandam si quid conferre potero, maxime laetabor ; nam 
quum praecipue juris patrii studiis me dedendi consilium ceperim, 
magno mihi incitamento spes illa erit, permulta etiam injure nostro 
historia duce illustrari posse. Praesenti enim tempore non disjiciun 
tur praeterlapsa et futura, sed conjunguntur, qua re qui illis tan 
tum operam dat, non res tractat in modum historiae: cujus 
tua quoque aetas partem efficit, quumque omnes res aeternis vinculis 
conjunctae sint, posterior pars non nisi priore accurate cognoscitur. 
Verumsi res patriae alicui minores esse videntur, quod non certus 
in iis finis inveniatur, huic recte opponi potest, magna fulgere in 
parvis tamquam solem in undis, atque dummodo omnes in loco, quo 
collocati sunt, bene vigilent, tutam esse custodiam. 
Quibus fontibus usus sim, ex ipsa dissertatione facile appa ,e - 
bit, de quibus multa disserere non aptum videtur. Neque tamen
