Of the KIN G's - E VI L . 453 and Pungency in the mafculine Semen , it will not ly irritate more frequently and more itrongly to nereal Embraces , but carry with it the fame Qualities into the impregnated Ovum , and without fome mon Interruption , or Contemperature from oppofite Qualities , will it increafe in the growing Fetus , in Proportion to its Enlargement , and make a Part of that Conftitution to which it gave Being , with the fame Affections and Properties as it flood poiTefTed of in the generating Semen . Hence it will be no difficult Thing to imagine , what a Condition the Off - fpring of fuch a Parent muft be in - , and how fooner or later , in one or another Part , this primitive Matter may fhew itfelf in a very trouble - fome , ifnotavery mifchievous , Manner ; astheCir - cumftances of Life and Strength of the Conftitution encourage or obftruct is Exertion , and the peculiar Configuration of the Glands favour or refift its mulation and . X . odgment : And that in the Cafe mediately under Enquiry , it chiefly fhews itfelf from a little Time after Birth to a State of Manhood , is probable from this Reafon , that fooner , it is not in Quantity enough to be difcernable , or is hindered from Exertion by the Laxity of the Paris , and Vifci - cjity of Humours , which is always more or lefs the Cafe of very young Children - , but that when the Parts have got fome Degree ofFirmnefs , and have digefted away the rough Humours , this hot fharp Matter comes lenfible to the fine Strainers and Membranes as it paffes in the Courfe of Circulation , and at laft fixes upon them fo as to occafion Pain , Inflammation , ling , and running Sores - , but when again the tution takes another Turn , and arrives to its utmoft Vigour , the digeftive Powers become able either to deftroy its Pungency by Attrition and Comminution , to detach it oft " by fome natural Outlet , molt monly the Glands of the Skin , or to leflen it , lo much at leaft , in Quantity , that it flows with the ordinary G g 3 Curren
